Situated along Long-Long Road in Pinsao Proper Village, the Igorot Stone Kingdom will surely capture your attention with beautiful layers of stone-formed castle structure. The Stone Kingdom, with an area of 6,000 square meters surrounded by tall trees and created resembling rice terraces, was built by Pio Velasco. From a birds-eye view, the place looks like a ruin of an old Roman Empire castle. According to Velasco, his concept for the man-made kingdom was “Igorot child’s castle fantasies, his childhood in Mountain Province, and a caring God and family culture brought by the Igorot’s skill of stone laying,” as mentioned in a news article published on the Philippine News Agency. The stone park was also built in honor of Velasco’s mom, who taught them patience and strength.
